Summer Camps and Programs


SUPERSTARS  (Registration Form)   
Superstars is for youth ages 6-14 offers (7) week-long sessions throughout the summer. Participants are placed in small groups based on their age. Each week will include arts and crafts, board games, socialization activities, sports, nature, special events, weekly trips and large group activities. Children should bring lunch, snacks and water bottles each day. Register early to ensure a place in the program as space is limited. Complete medical forms are required on all participants.

Extended hours are available: 7:00-8:30 AM & 4:00-5:30 PM for an additional fee of $45/week. (Separate registration is required for this) Request for extended hours must be submitted at time of session registration with full payment due according to schedule.

We will work with the public school to incorporate applicable educational goals and objectives. Children must be able to interact with peers and staff, independent in self-help skills, free of emotional and physical outbursts directed toward themselves or others; and free of medical conditions associated with risk for infection, complications, and/or injury or conditions that in the opinion of the nurse may represent a danger to self or others.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING
This 7 week program is designed to provide leadership training and opportunities to youth who are interested in becoming a counselor or working with children. Participants learn leadership skills, planning and programming, how programs operate, health and safety, developmental assets for youth, child development, behavior management, how to plan a field trip and participate in a practicum where they have an opportunity to work with a counselor. Children should bring lunch, snacks and water bottles each day. *Note: Counselors in Training are not guaranteed positions at the Billerica Recreation Department in future years.

NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS (Registration Form)
Children choose the park closest to their house. Park instructors provide supervised sports, arts and crafts, music, games, and special events. Special guests visit our parks throughout the summer. This is a drop-in program, children are encouraged to bring a snack & drink to the park. Parks are closed if it is raining hard.  Field Trips are offered throughout the summer with an extra cost.

Just need one week?  We offer a one week option for $60.

PLEASE NOTE:  Registrations need to be received prior to the program's starting date. For summer camps and programs, the child must be registered no later than 12 noon of the day prior to the child's attendance.

BILLERICA OLYMPICS (Registration Form)
These four weeks of fun are the perfect summer experience for middle school youth who want to participate in simple competitions in a friendly atmosphere! The program will be held in different locations each week to maximize the activities we can offer. The teams will be chosen randomly on the first day but will be adjusted as needed to make for a more fair competition. Teams will get to earn points with each day's activities with all teams getting to participate in the championship sport the final week. Activities will include games like dodge ball, ultimate, flag football, home run derby as well as beach games and canoe relays when we are at Micozzi Beach!

Children will have fun making new friends, playing games, arts and crafts, storytelling, water play and special events. If raining, the program is moved to the Lewis Bldg., 248 Boston Road. Please note: children must be toilet trained.
