The Town’s roadway network is comprised of approximately 189 miles of accepted roadway, all in various state of repair. The Town allocates State Chapter 90 funding annually for town-wide roadway maintenance as part of our Roadway Management Program. The Department of Public Works Engineering Division manages the Program, selects the roadways to be paved, determines the type of repair, and the extent of improvements that can be made based upon funding and need. Detailed plans are not developed as part of the Program. The Engineering Division acts as full time Resident Engineer during the construction, and directs the contractor in the field as to the specific details of the intended work.
