Boston Road Reconstruction - Updated 10/13/2023

10/13/23 Update:  J. Tropeano Inc. will continue drainage structure installation along Boston Road and Good Street working south towards the town center.  Dagle Electric will continue installing mast arms for traffic signals at Heritage Road, Boston Road and Good Street. Mass Electric will transfer fiber optics to the new utility poles in the upcoming weeks.

---------------

6/30/2023 Update:  Phoenix Communications will be transferring wires to the new utility poles on July 5, starting at 8PM for approximately 8 hours.  Work limits are between Town Hall and River Street.  This night time work will include a temporary closure of Boston Road to traffic for approximately 30-35 minutes for wires spanning across Boston Rd.  We anticipate minor noise impacts associated with the work.  Bucket trucks are equipped with backup alarms and the workers will need the use of power tools to perform the work.  Noise will be monitored to minimize impacts on residents.  We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.

----------------------

5/1/2023 Update:  There will be daily lane closures on Boston Road throughout the construction season.  The Contractor, J. Tropeano, Inc., will continue with drainage installation on the east side of Boston Road from Simmons Lane to Heritage Road through May.  National Grid Gas is performing gas pipe relocation on Boston Road, Farmers Lane and Good Street for the next two weeks and should begin main connections and service transfers in early May.  National Grid Electric / Asplundh is working on utility pole & guy wire installation, and will continue to coordinate the transfer of utilities from old poles to new poles in the next few weeks. Removal of old wire should begin the second week of May.

----------------------

Please be advised construction on the Boston Road Reconstruction Project is ongoing. During the project, two-way travel along Boston Road will be maintained.  At times, police details will limit traffic around the work crews to one travel lane at a time.  Motorists driving through the corridor during the midday should expect a delay in travel time.
