How often should I pump my septic system?
Pumping frequency is based on usage, but is typically necessary at least once every two (2) to three (3) years. The Board of Health recommends pumping on an annual basis, especially for older systems in order to properly maintain and prolong the life of your septic system. The septic system must be pumped by a septage hauler licensed with the Board of Health.
