My son/daughter wants to work for the Recreation Department in the summer. How old does he/she have to be to get a job and when does he/she apply?: The Recreation Department requires all applicants for positions to be at least 16 years old unless applying as a Certified Lifeguard. All employment openings will be posted on the town’s employment posting page.

1. Do you have to be a resident to participate or access Billerica Recreation programs and services?: No, programs and services are available to all regardless of residency.

2. How do I rent/reserve a field or park area?: There is information about the field and park reservation process as well as appropriate forms that need to be submitted on the Recreation Department’s page titled "Field and Court Reservations". Direct link to Field & Court Reservations

5. Where are the different parks/playgrounds; and what activities can visitors do there? Are there restrictions?: Information on all parks and playgrounds can be found here. Additional information about trails and amenities on Conservation Commission property can be found in their booklets which can be accessed here.

6. When are the Concerts on the Common?: In 2016 the Concerts on the Common will start on Tuesday, June 21st and continue every Tuesday until mid-August. Announcements on the performance schedule and weather cancellations will be announced on the Recreation Department’s web pages, calendars, and social media. The web page for the summer concerts is:

7. When do the Manning Park Splash Pad / Micozzi Beach open and close for the summer?: The Manning Splash Pad starts operation early June, depending on both weather and available staffing. While the Splash Pad will generally remain operational until the mid-September there will be no attendant services after August 31. Also dependent on Lifeguard availability, weather and Board of Health water testing results, Micozzi Beach is scheduled to open on Father’s Day, and close at the end of August.

8. I would like to teach a class with Billerica Recreation. How do I go about doing this?: Please complete and submit the “Program Proposal Form”. After we have received it, someone will contact you to discuss the proposed program and how it may or may not fit the Department’s goals and objectives.

9. Are dogs allowed in Billerica parks?: Dogs are not permitted in Micozzi beach during the operating season. They are allowed to all other parks but must be on leash. Plans are underway for an off leash dog park in Billerica. To find out more about this, please visit their website at:

10. Where can I get specific information about the programs, trips and tickets the Recreation Department offers?: Program information and updates are available on the Department’s Programs page of the Town website as well as the On-Line Registration pages where you can search the program offerings and read descriptions of each.

11. Our company is looking for a town wide service project. Is this something that we could work on with the Recreation Department?: Yes! We have numerous project ideas and ways for corporate groups to make a difference in this community. Examples include playground, picnic area, facility enhancements or “Earth Day” clean-up events.
